Terms of Surrender is finally here. This is book 2 in my Rocky Mountain Romance series and I’m already hard at work on book 3.
As the mother of two boys, I always thought my youthful secondary characters would mirror my children. I mean, I love the male species, whether they be young, old, or anywhere in-between. I love writing from their point-of-view, and with two wonderful boys and a loving husband, I have plenty of opportunity to delve into the male psych.
But then my youngest sister gave birth to a couple of sweet little girls, and I fell in love with my two precious—and precocious—nieces. Naturally when I began to write Terms of Surrender, and Laura and Lisa slipped onto the pages, their personalities picked up many of my nieces’ traits.
It seems I’m destined to write about manly men who are surrounded by females of all ages.
Here’s the back cover blurb. Enjoy!
A woman in need… ER nurse Harley Jane Davis has dedicated her life to helping others. Now she’s the one in trouble, and the only person she can rely on is Gage Toryn—the man she’s secretly been in love with for years.
A man on the edge… Gage would do anything for Harley, except give in to the hungry passion that sparks between them. He’s hiding a terrible secret, one guaranteed to destroy any chance at a relationship. And even though Harley haunts his dreams and makes him want to be a better man, he knows she could never love him if she learned about his ugly past.
Family, future, forever… When a situation with Gage’s brother endangers Harley and his nieces, Gage offers them refuge in his home—and the battered pieces of his heart. But can he overcome his fear of commitment and open up about the past? Or will his secret destroy his last chance to have a relationship—and a real family—with the only woman he’s ever loved?
As you know, I’ve just released my new contemporary romance, Always Remember, and this is what one reader posted on my Facebook page:“Just reading Always Remember. It is GREAT! Read 21 chapters before I had to put it down. Love those kinds of stories. Great job! Looking forward to the next one.”
And a few hours later, the same reader posted this: “Done! Haven’t read a book that fast in forever. What a terrific book!”
To say I’m a little overjoyed at the response would be putting it mildly. 🙂
Always Remember is a story near and dear to my heart. If you received the latest copy of my newsletter, then you’re probably aware that this tale was inspired by a true life story.
The Valentine Grinch novella has arrived just in time for the holidays. Yay!
This is a revised and expanded version of the story originally published in the WG2E All-For-Indies Anthology (the Viva La Valentine edition), so I want to warn you that if you bought the WG2E Viva La Valentine edition, you probably don’t want to buy the standalone version of the story … unless you want to read the revised and expanded version, that is. 🙂
This is Book One in the Home For The Holidays series. Watch for BookTwo in the series to come out some time in 2013.
Book 22 of the Bandit Creek series has finally arrived and – you guessed it – it’s WEDDING FEVER by Sheila Seabrook. What? Not surprised? You mean someone let out my secret? 🙂
First off, WEDDING FEVER is a novella, like the rest of the Bandit Creek books. I had a blast writing this story. Well, not for the first four chapters … but then something special happened. That magic that happens when I’m glaring at my computer screen, wondering why I ever chose this writerly profession, and wishing it was time to clean toilets instead.
Story Magic. Where does it come from? And do I really care? Yeah, I do, because without the magic, writing a story is just plain hard work. And that’s exactly how WEDDING FEVER began.
But then I started to write Chapter Four and Liz’s daughter popped onto the pages of my manuscript. She was fully formed and naughty with a smart mouth that reminded me of the days when I had teenagers living in my house. You love them, but then they open their mouth …
But I’m getting off topic. You’re here to find out about my story.
If you’ve already checked out my Books page, then you can skip down to the end of this post where I tell you all about the Facebook party and prizes. But for those of you who haven’t read the book blurb, I’ll repeat it here:
WEDDING FEVER by Sheila Seabrook
Bandit Creek’s star reporter is about to have her life turned upside down!
Liz Templeton lives a quiet life with her mother, her mother’s best friend, her boss, and – oh yeah – the ghost of her teenage daughter. When her ex-husband returns to town to hunt for the legendary Lost Lake treasure, she doesn’t count on the pair of matchmaking mothers who are planning her wedding or her daughter’s obsession with the man who might be her dad.
Liz has one chance to stop her family from driving her insane … and falling head over heels in love with her ex isn’t part of the plan.
Review for WEDDING FEVER
“Sheila Seabrook’s WEDDING FEVER is a romantic tale involving sunken treasure, lost love, and a ghost that will capture your heart. Once this story has you in its grip, it won’t let go!” – Julie Rowe, author of ICEBOUND and NORTH OF HEARTBREAK.
I hope you love reading this story as much as I loved writing it. I laughed. I cried. And I didn’t want to say goodbye to the characters. And if you enjoy WEDDING FEVER, then check out the prequel, a short story titled BABY FEVER, which is part of the Bandit Creek Fool’s Gold anthology.
Before you run off to enjoy your Sunday, come celebrate the release of WEDDING FEVER with me. Pop over to the Bandit Creek Books site and read Carla Roma’s interview with me, check out the excerpt from WEDDING FEVER, buy the book and join the Bandit Creek authors for the Facebook release party where I’m giving away three (3) copies of WEDDING FEVER. I’m also a guest blogger on the RG2E site today where I’m talking about my love of books.
On the first and fifteenth of the month, check back for more new Bandit Creek books. There’s something at Bandit Creek for everybody!
